The first step in the evaluation process is to check if the papers presented in English language are in accordance with the correct use of that language. The editor-associate for English-language skills, analyzes the appropriate use of the language, relevance and presentation management; In the same way, for items presented in Spanish, the editorial committee perform its first review, in addition, verifies proper exposure, compliance with submission rules and relevance before sending the papers to reviewers.
The method used by JETIA Journal to evaluate the papers submitted is known as “double-blind”, with reviewers who are experts of recognized competence in the subject, in which both evaluators and authors do not know their identities. The evaluators examine the items in terms of quality, originality, relevance and issue technical judgments about a possible publication.
Faced with the evaluation of the papers, the designated evaluators are invited to confirm their acceptance or refusal to carry out the evaluation, so that they can schedule pending results or indicate another jury. The deadline for submitting the evaluations is a maximum of one (1) month from the date of receipt of the paper, in order not to prolong the process of selecting items.
The evaluators must be impartial and confidential regarding the text been evaluated and are free to communicate potential evaluation conflicts, whether due to conflicts of academic, professional or personal interest.
In the evaluation, peer reviewers receive a standard form along with the paper, to make it easier to read and answer about the relevance of the paper and its possible publication. Using the standard form of evaluation on the paper, you can give your opinion on one of the following alternatives:
Recommend the paper as submitted;
The paper may be accepted after minor revisions are made as described in the written evaluation report;
The paper may be accepted after major revisions are made as described in the written evaluation report;
It should be reviewed by a new evaluator before being accepted;
The paper is not accepted for publication.
The presentation of a paper must be accompanied by the Presentation Letter, requesting the publication of the paper in the JETIA Journal, indicating that the article has been approved by all its authors, 4 possible candidates must be indicated for peer review (2 national peers and 2 international peers) for specific topic; If necessary, attach the necessary permissions to publish previously published material. Together with the Presentation Letter, the paper will be submitted to the Open Journal System (OJS) (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/) (go to Paper Submission).
By institutional policies, an author can only publish one paper per year in the Open Journal System (OJS) to avoid inbreeding.
Papers with the following characteristics will not be considered for publication:
Previously published in another journal or scientific / informative jornal;
A translation or use of material protected by intellectual property rights;
A criticism to the engineering technique that does not contribute to innovation of the subject;
A paper from class notes;
Papers with offensive contents for individuals, research groups, products and / or other services;
The authors will submit their papers through the Open Journal System (OJS), after entering the OJS System website and registering as a user.
Authors should adjust their papers to comply with the format of the submission and consult the submission format (paper format).
Upload the manuscript in Microsoft Word ® suitable for confidential evaluation “without the information of the authors” (in the .ZIP or other compressed file), in original version. Additional files must be uploaded such as: letters of use and originality, images, original version of the document (as it should be), with the names of the authors, institutional affiliation, city, country, e-mail and others, etc. The authors must complet the paper registration (in the OJA system) and send it, along with the Presentation Letter, as an attachment, through the Open Journal System (OJS). Once the paper, presentation letter and paper submission form were submitted correctly through OJS, the system will send a confirmation to the registered author in the system. All communication about the paper and the process of the supplementary material will be carried out through the registered e-mail of the main author of the paper.
If the paper is accepted for publication, the authors should carefully and completely read the Transfer Rights in favor of JETIA Journal, the term must be signed by all authors and delivered at the time of approval of the final version for publication. Once the paper is accepted to publish, authors must give their consent to serve as evaluators of other papers in their area of knowledge, if necessary.
