The potato chip supply chain plays a strategic role in achieving both operational and sustainability objectives within the agro-industrial sector, making continuous performance improvement essential. Developing agricultural and agro-industrial supply chains requires careful consideration of multiple factors to ensure systems that are integrated, effective, efficient, responsive, fair, and sustainable. However, sustainability efforts are increasingly challenged by climate change, which contributes to rising temperatures, sea-level increases, droughts, and other environmental threats. These impacts are intensified by the ongoing growth of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, primarily driven by industrial activities, changes in agricultural practices, and land-use transformations. To address these challenges, this study applies a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach to evaluate the entire life cycle of the potato chip supply chain with the aim of reducing its environmental impacts. An LCA-based model is developed specifically for the potato chip agro-industry to identify critical stages that significantly contribute to environmental burdens. This identification is conducted through a detailed analysis of the production process, providing insights that support the adoption of environmentally responsible and sustainable production practices.
