Resumo

In recent years, the field of foundation engineering has witnessed a transformative shift with the emergence of smart materials and data-driven decision-making technologies [1]. The term “Smart Soil” represents the strategic integration of geosynthetic materials—particularly geo-textiles—with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems to address critical problems in soil stabilization and settlement prediction. Geo-textiles act as reinforcement materials that enhance the mechanical behavior of soil under various loading conditions, and when embedded in soil layers, they help distribute loads more uniformly, prevent soil erosion, and improve overall foundation stability [2].

However, traditional foundation design strategies often fall short in predicting long-term settlement behavior due to the complex and nonlinear nature of soil systems [3]. To overcome these limitations, AI models and machine learning algorithms such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), and Decision Trees are increasingly being used to analyze large volumes of geotechnical data, leading to more accurate predictions and informed engineering decisions [4].

This article provides a comprehensive assessment of the dual role of geo-textiles and AI-expected agreement models in modern-day foundation engineering. It examines their man or woman contributions, ability synergies, and the challenges involved in enforcing such included approaches within the discipline. The study objectives to formulate a framework for future infrastructure systems that aren't handiest sturdy and fee-powerful but additionally adaptable to evolving environmental and geotechnical demanding situations. The findings provide key insights into how clever substances and wise technologies may be harmonized to redefine the future of sustainable and excessive-overall performance basis design.
