The increasing use of advanced nonlinear power supplies in applications such as electric heaters, switch-mode power supplies, fluorescent lamps, and air conditioning voltage controllers has led to notable concerns regarding power quality in distribution networks. These systems often inject harmonic currents, resulting in waveform distortion and energy inefficiency. Current-Pulsed Power Supplies (CPPS), which are extensively utilized in industrial processes, are particularly prone to producing such distortions. To overcome these challenges, this research proposes the use of Active Power Filters (APFs) for simultaneous harmonic mitigation and reactive power compensation. The APF design incorporates a three-level NPC inverter, where PWM techniques are applied to maintain balanced dc-link capacitor voltages while functioning in parallel with the CPPS. To further enhance system performance, the study introduces the Benders decomposition theorem as an optimization framework for achieving reliable power flow management. PI controller is utilized to regulate the DC bus voltage of the APF, selected for its fast dynamic response and ability to minimize control delays in nonlinear load environments. The proposed strategy confirm by Simulation results that significantly improves stability, reduces harmonic distortion, and strengthens the overall reliability of CPPS, thereby contributing to improved power quality in modern electrical systems.
