High functional components are becoming more in demand for surface finishes at the nanoscale level; however, this is challenging to accomplish due to the usage of advanced materials in these components. A novel hybrid finishing technique called electrochemical magnetic abrasive finishing (EC-MAF) can finish advanced materials up to the nanoscale level, but it needs to solve several problems to be efficient. The EC-MAF was altered to fix the problems, and response surface methodology was used to perform an experimental study on SS 420. To process the electrolytic current, electrolytic flow rate, rotational speed, and working gap, a central composite design of experiments was employed. To forecast surface roughness and material removal, a regression model based on a second-order polynomial has been developed. After multi- response optimization, the ideal level of surface roughness was achieved with 0.001 µm and 63.303 mg of material removal.
