Abstract

This study aimed at filling the knowledge gap by examining the influence of performance expectancy on e-procurement adoption model in developing countries, Tanzania in particular. The mediation effects of relative advantage and attitude were considered in this study. Positivism philosophy and cross-sectional survey research design were adopted. In addition, stratified sampling technique was adopted and a sample of 157 respondents was used. Questionnaire and documentary review were used for data collection. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with the help of SmartPLS 3 software was used to analyze the collected data. The findings reveal that performance expectancy has direct influence on e-procurement adoption model. Likewise, performance expectancy has indirect influence on e-procurement adoption model through relative advantage and attitude. Basing on these findings, it is concluded that performance expectancy has both direct and indirect influences on e-procurement adoption model. Therefore, it is recommended that the Government of Tanzania and other Governments based in developing countries to pay attention to the performance expectancy on the way to e-procurement adoption systems.
