Abstract

In this work a RCD was incorporated in the mass to produce ceramics, aiming to propose an option of reuse in this process and in the economy of the clay raw material. The experimental methodology is based on the use of RCD as non-plastic material, with a pre-established composition of 90% RCD. The RCD was triturated and mixed with water and water (8%). The blend was pressed in a manual hydraulic pressure and dried by an oven at 110 ° C, and burned at 950 ° C. All their evidence was observed in relation to their ability. The mechanical resistance with the use of 10% of the RCD had a capacity of traction superior to 4 Mpa, being considered a better composition. The results show that it is possible to use RCD to produce ceramic material, with an opportunity for reappropriation and saving of natural resources.
